At the university of Nairobi, our college of aRCHITECTURE and engineering has closed down for the holiday session which will last for 3 months.
Pressure is high on us as we shop around for attachments and others hustle for jobs soon after they have graduated.
One question which i ask myself, are the educational institutions producing so much that the job market cannot be able to absorb? And what if they is a gap in the output as per the students graduating at a particular year, will there be vacuum?
(to b contd)

Design part A

The design process is considered to be one of the mostt interesting occurence in an architect life. From the client brief to conceptualisation, through sketches to project completion is all considered to be in the name of research.
There is this project we were issued on the month of June 2008 about the design of a library of the built environment for the University of Nairobi and one has to think through all those processes for u to arrive at the conclusion which sometymes is never there.
Crazily and imaginatively thinking is how and where does a boy meet agirl or girl meet a boy for bondiing until marriage?Wat is the criteria for choosing? and selectively how do you come to conclusion that this is the best?
iDEALLY we take things in there abstract nature and diminify the uinderlying mysteries; is like poetry, and as William wordsworth states, "......is like a surgeon, for you to critically analyse a poem, one has to dig deeper through the vessels and be able to bring the to the table the essentails and remove clatter..." This is the beginning of my design Process: UNIVERSITY; Unity amidisty diversity

my beloved country Kenya

First it started like a synopsis of a play or a movie review. Smouldering sooty and dark smoke rose out of dark small clustered villages! bloody shed all over and screams and yells of women filled the air, then was the shock and tension hanging and looming like dark nimbo-cumulus clouds. Oh my God what is happening to our beloved "democratic country?" this all we were watching on telly. the young ones could question but no body was ready nor willing to explain. I sat their transfixed and rooted to the strong cedar chair imobilised and frozen by the news and unfolding of events.
Then suddenly, "uncle," shouted my funny little nephew, " the hill across is burning!
This was on the 1st of January the year 2008, a very sad way to start the year indeed, what contnued to unfold thereafter is inexplicable and has been biasedly been reported bythe the international media all to its taste. I cant explain what has been happening since this has been happening since it has been flushed all over. we come to awake at a time when the one strong and stable African democracy is being torn apart, families friends left homeless and camping in places where they cant feed nor drink a pint of water. Please i call upon all Kenyans to keep peace and desist from violence, Kenya is greater than any one single of us.
I also call upon anyone reading this to he;lp in any way to assist in the Kenyan sitution.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL WHO ARE GOING TO TAKE ACTION

Insipiration

There is a time I sit in my design class and wonder where the inpiration is going to come from so that I may start my design project. Then suddenly an Idea strkes. By the way it is on a friday afternoon, and the weekend mood has set in,suddenly some fellows starts to fidget as thew lecturer goes on singing cohently and eloquently the usual stuff: control; accuracy;speed;technique; your intution and inspiration, and suddenly from nowhere he says and your weekend. My collegues bust in laughter and streams out with a thud, the lecture sighs and says well, it is a world and there time amidst whispers. During this weekend I have been thinking of this idea and well I thought since it is time and maybe tachnology which dictates, I gonna research on the latest: genetics in architectural progress.
